* STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?*

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nationwas the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middleclass in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids What in the hell happened? Can you spell *'politicians!'* And I still have to 'press 1' for English!?!?!?!?

Totally crazy. I think I'm in favor of a flat tax rate. 10%, 15%, 18% whatever, I've got to do some more study on it, but its gotta be better than what we've got. -J

I hate taxes! I think they are ridiculous if you ask me!

Taxes Suck!! I am all about a percentage paid tax. The church isn't in debt with 10% tithing. Our country needs to rethink taxes. Although we could end up paying a 90% tax if we give them that option.

How can you say a few taxes, a few dollars here a few dollars there (I know they add up), have somehow brought down America? Also, your facts are wrong, American was in debt 1.15 billion dollars 100 years ago. There were 76 lynchings a day. I couldn't vote (I'm a woman). My pal couldn't vote (A black woman). Child labor was going strong. I couldn't work even if I wanted to, and I want to. How can you say American 1910 was a better time to live than today? Even without today's dental and medical advances?

How can you (babybluekane)think taxes are ridiculous? I can see hating them, but not wanting them at all? I love taxes. I love all the things the government does for me. It educated me, gave me roads, worked with veterans to protect me from other countries, has a postage service, puts crazy people in jail, and so much more! The Wifers, the flat tax rate highly favors the rich, which is why I'm sort of against it, although I was initially all for it too. (Think of the simplicity!! With a few tweaks, I could get behind it!) The Wheat Family, the thing about your church getting by on 10% tithing is a silly comparison. Does your church have to defend itself in war with a military? Does your church fund scientific research? Does your church provide social security benefits to everyone? Does your church pay all of its workers? Does your church educate every single member? Does your church build roads?
